Non linear acoustics
Non linear acoustics take
into account harmonic waves generated by non linear behaviour
of inspected structures under the stress of an ultrasonic
beam.
The inspection of some
materials, for example aircraft composite structures, can
take advantage of this technique for fatigue monitoring before
crack generation, which is of great interest for safety issues.
This technique requires transducers
with frequency spectral adapted to emitting frequency f and receiving
frequency 2f
