Harmonic Imaging

For harmonic imaging, echoes at harmonics of the fundamental frequency are detected.

These harmonics are generated by non linear acoustic properties of tissues, and allow better images on technically difficult patients, combining the penetration of fundamental frequency and resolution of harmonics

This technique requires transducers with frequency spectral adapted to emitting frequency f and receiving frequency 2f

Imasonic developes and manufactures transducers for harmonic imaging, exploiting its capacity to design and predict specific spectral profiles, and to manufacture corresponding transducers.
